You may think I’ve been quiet but I’ve actually been really busy corresponding with record offices to see how much information I could get for free!
I found out where Selina Caswell is buried and that Alfred Young’s name appears on the First World War memorial in Bridgend, Wales. Attention to detail is everything
I’ve also just finished reading Home by Julie Myerson, which was brilliant.
It only took 5 minutes after walking through the flat door to realise I didn’t want to be back in London. London stinks, literally, and the roads are paved with rubbish.
On the plus side, we did visit may dots on my family history map: Clyffe Pypard, Broad Hinton, Ogbourne St George, Uffcott, Marlborough, Draycot Foliat and Chiseldon. We also popped into Steam, the Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon.
Wiltshire is great, London is crap.
