Hooray, 2007 is almost over!

We’re back from the country where we spent time visiting friends and family over Christmas. First stop was The George at Norton St Philip. A lovely old coaching inn which served a great breakfast!

The weather before Christmas was gorgeous, cold and crisp with a deep frost.

Then on to Exeter where we stayed at the Royal Clarence. We felt like we were the only ones staying there as it was so quiet. We had some time on Christmas Eve to visit the beautiful town of Totnes. There were loads of wonderful shops and I definitely want to go back next time we are in Devon.
We received some lovely, thoughtful presents. Lots of Cath Kidston and Dr Haushka presents for me, the Cranford trilogy, The Cute Book, other craft books and a great 5 year diary from here. Robin also had lots of books so we shall be busy throughout the cold winter months.
We returned home today via a country walk with friends over the muddy fields near Corton Denham. Sales shopping tomorrow!
I received this wonderful ornament from Neele in Dusseldorf this week. It was beautifully wrapped and a real pleasure to open!

I finished this last minute present for an aunt we are visiting tomorrow. The design is from simple sewing and was so simple to make. I used some of my favourite Cath kidston fabric.

We also made some delicious gingerbread biscuits so I hope my aunt likes her handmade gifts. I even made a little felt Robin gift tag!
We’ve had another busy weekend preparing for Christmas. We had our own Christmas meal yesterday, I even made some cranberry sauce! We finally got around to having a real fire in the lounge and put our Christmas tree up. The tree is laden with handmade ornaments from the swap - I recently received two more:

from Heather in San Diego and this cute monkey from Lucy Byrd

I have been a lazy blogger since the end of November! Over the last few days I have received some wonderful handmade ornaments:
An xmas oddity from Camilla

This cute octopus from Jennie in Brooklyn, NY

and this lovely parcel from Lina
