Another ornament

I was surprised to find another ornament had landed on my doormat when I got home from work today. It has come all the way from Texas and arrived to brighten up our post-Christmas blues. Our tree has drooped and I don’t think it will survive until the sixth night. I have placed the ornament on my new Ikea tree which will be staying up all year round.

Day 27

I am so glad it’s almost the end of November. Blogging every day is hard! I spent this evening making Christmas cards and wrapping presents. We’re off to the Isle of Wight this weekend and swapping Christmas presents so I’ve been super organised this year. There’s a big pile of presents ready to go. I hope the weather will be good to us!

Handmade ornament swap

I finished my handmade ornaments for the Handmade Ornament swap this evening. I’ve made little stockings with a jingle bell! I hope my partners like them. They’ll be put in the post sometime this week.

Day 19

Hooray, today there was some progress with the handmade Christmas ornament. I have made a prototype which turned out well and I should be able to start making the real ones this week. I found some great fabric in Brighton on Saturday. Perhaps I’ll post a little preview tomorrow.

I’ve seen a couple of posters on the tube for a Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park over Christmas. They have a German market, ice skating, an observation wheel and lots more. I definitely want to go!

Christmas ATC

Not quite the craftiness I was planning but better than nothing. I fully intended to make a start with the handmade ornament swap today. Instead I got stuck doing a whole load of other things. We visited our local farmers market in Palmers Green this morning. It was small but there were a variety of stalls and we picked up some delicious pastries as well as some local flour, milled at home on the Isle of Wight.

This afternoon I finished some swapbot swaps; handmade Christmas cards and Christmas ATCs. I must remember to head off early to the Post Office tomorrow lunchtime. People have started sending Christmas mail and the queue is usually down the street by half 12!
